Chris Garcia-Prats | Head Coach
A 2002 graduate of Trinity University (TX), the 2024 season will be Chris' 17th year as head coach.
During his tenure, he has led the Norse to an overall record of 187-91-42 that includes a mark of 78-34-14 in conference play. His teams have won three conference championships (2011, 2013, 2017); four conference tournament titles; and have made six appearances in the NCAA III National Tournament (2011- round of 16, 2013, 2016, 2018 - Elite 8, 2019 - Elite 8, 2022). Three times he has been named Regional Coach of the Year (2011, 2018, 2019).
His teams have also finished the year ranked nationally at No. 5 (2019); No. 8 (2018); No. 14 (2011); No. 22 (2013); and No. 23 (2016). He has coached six All-Americans, 59 all-conference honorees, five conference Most Valuable Performers and 22 all-region performers. Three times his coaching staff has been named Conference Coaching Staff of the Year (2011, 2017, 2018).
Prior to Luther, he served as the assistant men's soccer coach and recruiting coordinator at Trinity University. During this stretch Trinity made six NCAA III National Tournament appearances advancing to three semifinals, finishing as the national runner-up in 2007 and captured the national championship in 2003.
Carson Davenport | Assistant Soccer Coach
A 2021 graduate of Luther, the 2024 campaign will be Carson's first as an assistant coach. He returns to Luther from North Central College (IL) where he was a graduate assistant for the past two years.
While playing for the Norse, Carson made 91 appearances that included 80 starts for the Norse at goalkeeper. His career goals-against-average of 1.16 ranks ninth on Luther's all-time list. He also ranked tied for third for career shutouts (20), tied for ninth for single season shutouts (8), and 10th for single season goals-against-average (0.95). Twice he was named all-conference and helped lead the Norse to a regular season conference title (2017) and back-to-back Elite 8 appearances in the NCAA III National Tournament (2018, 2019).
Ryan Martin | Assistant Coach - Goalkeepers
A 2008 graduate of Waldorf College, the 2024 season will be Ryan's eighth as Luther's goalkeeper coach.
Prior to joining the Norse staff, he was Waldorf's men's head coach from 2011-15 and was an assistant coach at Decorah High School from 2009-11.
During his playing days at Waldorf, he wa a four-year starter in from of the nets and served as team captain for two years. He was named Defender of the year in 2007 and holds several career goalkeeping records.
